Foxpaw stalked forward in the grass. She made some rustling. Once he was close enough she pounced on the leaf.

Raventalon heard Foxpaw crash through the grass before appearing. "Almost, but needs some work," he commented, padding over to her. He lifted his tail in the air momentarily before lowering it. "The wind's pretty strong so timing your attack will be a little more difficult," he said, "The perfect time to jump is when the grass is parted, making a clear line to your target. Try again with that in mind."

Foxpaw's face fell. She had thought she did better than alright. "Ok."

"Don't get too down. No one's perfect the first time around. That's why this is practice, to make sure you can do this when the time comes," Raventalon reassured her with a smile, "Persistence is key so give it another go."

Foxpaw nodded a little. "Yea ok." She turned and went back into the grass.

Raventalon sat down again. "Same target," he called to her, "Concentrate solely on your target."

"Ok!" Foxpaw called back before crouching down. She began to stalk forward. She went slow and tried not to make noise.

Raventalon pricked his ears again to listen for any rustling. For now, nothing was out of the ordinary.

Foxpaw slid a little closer to the lead before pouncing.

Raventalon smiled. "Much better," he praised, "Slight rustle, but not enough to alert the enemy. Let's try-" He was cut off by something large lumbering through the grass. The fur along his spine rose as he dropped into a defensive position.

Foxpaw looked at Raventalon, slightly scared. What was making that noise. She slowly moved closer to her mentor.

Raventalon's eyes narrowed as a badger's snout appeared through the grass. He noticed his apprentice close to his side. "Go get some help from camp," he whispered, hoping the badger didn't spot them yet.

"I can't just leave you here alone." Foxpaw protested softly. She looked at the badger and shrank back just a little.

"We don't have time for this. We need more than just the two of us," Raventalon said, raising his voice. The badger snapped its head to the two cats and snarled. "Go! Now!" the tom yowled, slashing a paw at the creature to distract it.

Foxpaw backed away before turning and running. She ran as fast as she could back to camp. She hoped she would get there in time and Raventalon wouldn't get hurt. Soon she bursted through the entrance to camp. She looked around for someone, anyone.

Swiftstar was dozing on the branch in front of his den.

With the badger's attention, Raventalon ran towards the back of the territory to led it away from all the clans. The badger willingly followed him, snarling all the way.

"Swiftstar!" Foxpaw cried out as she ran to the leaders den.

Swiftstar let out a small grunt as he quickly woke up. Still dazed, he swiveled his head around to locate the voice until he saw Foxpaw under the tree. "Wh-What is it?" he asked, he speech slurred from sleep.

"Raventalon and I found a badger during training. Then it attacked us but Raventalon sent me back to camp for help! So he is still there with the badger, alone!" Foxpaw mewed in a panicked voice.

"What!," the leader exclaimed, now fully awake. He looked around the camp but it appeared that everyone was out. Panicked, Swiftstar called loudly throughout the camp. "If any cat can hear me, please step into the clearing." He looked back to Foxpaw, "Where was the last place the badger was before you left?"

Foxpaw told him where the badger had been.

"Right," Swiftstar said. With no other cats arriving, he decided to head out with Foxpaw. "Lead the way."

Foxpaw turned and sprinted back out of camp, following her scent trail from before. She hoped they weren't too late.

Swiftstar followed the apprentice.

Raventalon continued to run from the badger. The constant running was beginning to wear both the warrior and the badger down.

Soon they got to where Foxpaw had left Raventalon.
